In a simple yet serious idea, Senator Ted Cruz has proposed to use assets seized from drug lords such as El Chapo to help pay for a wall along the US-Mexican Border. Cruz is quoted as saying the following about it:
“Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border.”
The bills full acronym is the ” Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order” Act. It is not yet known if this idea will gain traction but either way it is a creative solution to an important problem plaguing the Trump administration. Which is who will exactly pay for the wall and additional border security?
In its totality, the bill is only a mere two pages long offering clear and concise instruction.20170424_El ChapoAct
