Ocasio-Cortez has had a good and bad last 48 hours on social media.
Some good vibes coming from her dancing video, which showed a more human, cute, and sexy side of the controversial Congresswoman.
We reported the story first here at D.C. Chronicle.
However the bad side of her followers showed as she got into a controversial pissing contest with Congressman Minority Whip Steve Scalise on Sunday. Her followers attacked Scalise and mocked him being shot. One follower said “snipe his ass” and another said “she’s got better aim than James Hodkinson, that’s for sure” Hodgkinson of course critically wounded and shot Scalise and other staffers who were practicing for the GOP vs DNC Charity baseball game.
Scalise stated that he would be more than happy to continue the debate with her from the people’s house, but refused to do it any longer on social media due to her radical followers.
If that wasn’t enough of a week, Ocasio-Cortez went on 60 Minutes last night with Anderson Cooper. She literally stated last night that facts are over-rated, if you don’t believe me I suggest you go check out her interview with Cooper.
The Washington Post then took aim at AOC as she now calls herself on social media. “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s very bad defense of her falsehoods“, where they called her out for showing a “tendency to exaggerate or misstate basic facts”.
They also criticized her for “minimizing her falsehoods” and having “problematic” defenses to questions about her fuzzy claims.
After this widespread criticism, Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to complain. When WaPo’s Sal Rizzo said “Trump doesn’t think he deserves as many Pinocchio’s as we give him either”, Ocasio-Cortez got triggered and fired back with this
Facts are facts, America. We should care about getting things right. Yet standards of who gets fact-checked, how often + why are unclear.
This is where false equivalency+bias creeps in, allowing climate deniers to be put on par w/scientists, for example.https://t.co/87c6kVzIuI
