Reba now 63-year-old country singer told recently told ITK that talking politics has nothing to do with her job as an entertainer.

When asked about speaking about politics, she simple stated “That’s not my job.”

“That’s why it’s so great to live here in the United States of America,” she said. “You can vote in and you can say what you want to and you can choose not to say what you want to.”

It’s not the first instance in which McEntire refused to engage in politics.

In an appearance on “The View” last year, she explained that her decision to stay away from that arena is something she does out of respect for her fans.

She said when she is performing a concert, she is there “to entertain them [the fans], to take their worries away from them, so when they walk out, they can kind of have a little lift in their step and go, ‘Aw, that was such a great break from all the problems I have to deal with during daily life.’ So I’m not going to give them my political views.”

McEntire is best known for songs like “Fancy” and “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia.” She has won three Grammy Awards and been nominated a total of 15 times.

McEntire also has an impressive acting career.
