Facebook appears to have flagged as “spam” a New York Post article about supporters of President Donald Trump.
Post columnist Salena Zito published an article Wednesday evening explaining why Trump supporters are unlikely to care about the criminal convictions of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort
But Facebook removed Zito’s post after she shared it on the website, she said on Thursday. “I’ve received nine separate messages from readers telling me the same thing has happened to them,” Zito noted on Twitter.
So this is interesting…@facebook took down my post of my reporting for the @nypost — I’ve received nine separate messages from readers telling me the same thing has happened to them. ‘sup @facebook ?https://t.co/dCwG9HQiJI

Facebook didn’t provide Zito any explanation for why they removed her post but some of her readers reported receiving messages from the social media company claiming the article “l0oks like spam and doesn’t follow our Community Standards.”
Zito shared the example below with The Daily Caller News Foundation:
TheDCNF’s reporter was able to share a link to the story on his personal Facebook page but the social media company nixed the headline, photo and sub-headline that typically accompanies such posts, significantly reducing its visibility.
A Facebook spokeswoman said the company was looking into the matter.
This isn’t the first time that Facebook has inaccurately flagged right-of-center articles as “spam.”
Readers of The Daily Caller in April were blocked from sharing a story on the lost-and-found text messages between FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. Facebook blamed its “spam” algorithm for the suppression, which it said was in error.
