Every year thousands come from across the country to watch the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl. The annual football game is held in December to celebrate members of the United States Armed Forces.

The event features recruits of the military being sworn in by officers of their respective military branches, scholarships awarded, and even military homecomings. This year the event had two special guests including Secretary of the United States Navy Ray Mabus and Taya Kyle (widow of US Navy SEAL Chris Kyle).

This year the United States Navy Midshipmen took on LA Tech Bulldogs in a game that ended with LA tech victorious 48-45.

Bu the game is so much more than that, it is a game of patriots. Thousands come together to recognize the sacrifices that our military members go through each and everyday. This year the event went a step further recognizing the families through the honoree Taya Kyle.

The event had thousands on their feet curious as to who the winner would be.

At another event this week by the same organization U.S. Army Green Beret and former Texas Longhorns long snapper Nate Boyer gave a rich keynote speech sharing his story.
